Each user would have to download several hundred MB of osm data instead of several GB of 3D models. But it would reduce storage and bandwidth requirements to the central FG or voluntary infrastructure. verbose ( -v ) Show all command line options when combined with -help or -h. This idea is rather far fetched and would need a fair bit of changes to osm2city and separate development of a (multi-platform?) GUI tool. help ( -h ) Show the most relevant command line options. OSM is changing license though, so soon their data will be GPL compatible. Of course, the toolchain is rather complex (postgres, osmosis, python etc) and the process has to be somewhat error-proof - for example not fail an entire tile if there is one incorrect tag in the osm input. Thats because the OSM license was/is not compatible with the GPL (the license FlightGear scenery/aircraft/source fall under). This involves tile selection, download and preprocessing of OSM data, building generation and integration in the local TS tree. This package contains: Frankfurt am Main Intl Airport (EDDF) terrasync/custom objects. So my idea for another aprroach - I don't know if this has been discussed before (I don't follow the entire thread and mailing list.)īased on the existing python osm2city script there could be a GUI client that manages the entire process of generating osm buildings on the user machine. It seems impractical to download entire tiles of OSM buildings along normal TS scenery. This facts are attracting new aficionados in the island, asking for your help. 4 of 10 Dominicans of FG became real pilots with one aditional application for ATC. Dominicans in FG is a long standing group, perhaps not to much populated, but with lot of fidelity and enthusiastic as FG is the SIM that gave them an opportunity to be then real pilots. I received a lot of requests from FG users, if you please are so kind helping out with Dominican Republic. However I can tell you that there a bunch of people enjoying OSM scn from the wiki. Was so tedious to install and maintain such amount of packs for me, so I waited until they were included. I don't use to install any custom scn, even less 45 airports of i.e Spain Custom scn. You can edit them with almost every GIS package. A shapefile is a proprietary spatial information format. In order to add custom scenery to FlightGear, you must create a custom shapefile. Of course, will be nice to reduce delivery time for Terrasync. Custom terrain in FlightGear is currently generated through processing shapefiles with TerraGear. I don't know if there is such infrastructure you are asking about. Having account that was a long period, I recommend you to release for now as custom.

It tooks 2-3 ? years till Spain custom scenery by Ludomotico was included in Terrasync with two missing airports on TS. Eddf-ellx custom scenery destroys surrounding airports.
